Anti-gun violence coalition asks for 'common sense gun safety' in Iowa

Iowans vowed to fight against gun violence during a gathering at the Statehouse.

The We Can End Gun Violence Coalition asked lawmakers to oppose a constitutional amendment ensuring the right to bear arms.

Gun violence hit home in Des Moines when four teenagers died in the first five weeks of this year.

The We Can End Gun Violence Coalition said it is concerned about a handful of other gun bills moving through the Republican-controlled Statehouse -- including a bill allowing gun owners to bring weapons to school and workplace parking lots.
